We were looking for a restaurant in this area to have lunch before shopping around here and found The Sunshine Cafe on Yelp so decided to try it.  The menu has something for every taste and the selection of meal sized salads was great.  We each had a salad, Cobb and Sunshine, and the were so good and good sized so we even had leftovers for dinner.  They make their own dressings and both the ranch and blue cheese dressings were delicious.

Have to give a shoutout to our server, Gabby. She was very attentive and accommodating, providing extra dressing and crackers to compliment our lunch.

The restaurant is a great little cafe, not fancy but as we found out, these are often the best places to eat. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu.

We had high hopes for this diner-like cafe.  From the outside, it's very cute.  Inside appeared very clean with a front dining room that featured a dining counter for solo patrons, as well as a dining room in the rear of the building.
We stopped in for breakfast as we were in the area.  The menu had a good variety of typical breakfast items, as well as a few Latin-influenced breakfast dishes.  The special on this day was Chili Rellenos for breakfast.
As a pancake fan, I ordered the banana-pecan pancakes as the menu stated that pancakes are not made from a box mix.  The two-cakes were studded with pecan halves and a few slices of bananas cooked into the batter.   It's served with a little cup of butter/margarine spread and there is a jar of syrup on the table.  The pancakes were very dense, not very fluffy and the one cake was undercooked in the center.  It seems like their made from scratch batter could use a bit more baking powder to make them fluffier.
My dining partner ordered biscuits with gravy and a slice of apple pie as the pie was listed on the special's board.  The biscuit was dry and tasted stale.  The sausage gravy was okay and they top the dish with bacon bits which seemed very odd.
Forgo the apple pie unless you like grocery store apple pie.  We witnessed the server take the apple pie out of a clear clam-shell container that had the store's nutrition fact label.  At $6, the slice of pie should have been made from scratch, not store bought.
Sorry Sunshine Cafe, we had much greater expectations.

We arrived around noon Monday after seeing the yelp reviews. The small front room and bar was sectioned off from some other part of the Coffee shop. The place is old with a dingy feeling low closed in ceilings.
They weren't busy after the morning rush with three sets of couples and one at the bar. The waitress yelled sit anywhere. Three waitress' and cook? Left for the back leaving the true Professional in the room, the "Busboy" to take our drink orders and coffee refills thru the meal. He was dressed professionally taking care of all the tables even taking over their checks--5 Stars.
I ordered the eggs with chicken fried steak and a pancake, not "FISH" the steak was cooked in the same oil as the fish with a spoonful of GLUE for gravy. The pancake after I got home stunk with "FISH" they cooked the pancake on the same grill as the fish and Never washed it first. Next time serve Target Sauce with your meals. The omelette is scrambled and folded the hashbrowns had a funkie taste-old oil. The table across from us sent back their BLT with burnt bacon and the stem not even cut out of the tomato. They didn't even eat the returning sandwich it was just as bad.

Thomas is a fabulous waiter. Attentive and just a good man in the case. He always is good to us when we eat there and makes us beer batter onion rings that are to die for. We will continue to come to this fabulous restaurant.
